About Atrium Educational
Recognizing a need in the area for excellent one on one tutoring options coupled with a platform for accessible communication and feedback, Atrium Educational was formed in 2005.
Based in Syosset, Atrium has been serving Long Island for two decades with the highest quality educational services, ranging from individual subject tutoring to college advising to test preparation. We seek to help every student by taking an individualized approach based on age and level.
We have experienced and caring tutoring professionals available for all grades, levels, and subjects from pre-k through college and beyond. This includes students who have special learning challenges as well as students who need help preparing for upper-level SAT, ACT, and AP exams
In 2010, we added personalized college counseling and application assistance to our offerings. In 2016, we added career counseling to our personalized services menu.
In addition to excellent tutors, Atrium has a reputation for superlative customer service and parent/tutor feedback. We take a direct, comprehensive approach to ensure the satisfaction of our clients. Many of our clients come to us through very happy customer referrals, and many of our families have utilized our services for years.

About Our Directors
Lauren C. Salit, Managing Director and Educational Placement Coordinator
Lauren C. Salit has served as Atrium’s Managing Director and Educational Placement Coordinator since 2006. Ms. Salit is responsible for personally interviewing every tutor hired by Atrium. All of our tutors are subjected to a rigorous interview process, which includes thorough reference and background investigations. Tutors range from graduate Students, to teachers, to retired teachers to engineers. Not only must our tutors have mastered their area of expertise; but they must also have a keen ability to relate to their students and be able to explain concepts to them in a way they can clearly understand.
Ms. Salit also works very closely, and on a continual basis, with our families, her philosophy being that in order for the progress being sought to be achieved, there needs to be the right “chemistry” between the student and tutor. The goal is always to give the student the confidence and skills to be successful independent of tutoring. She is always available for questions and concerns, and sincerely wants to do what is best for your child.
Ms. Salit holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Vassar College. She also has a Juris Doctorate from Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University.

Dr. Nicole A. Cosentino, Ph.D., Director of Student Success
Dr. Nicole Cosentino is a passionate and dedicated educator with over 20 years of one-on-one tutoring experience. For the past 15 years, Dr. Cosentino has been an active presence in classrooms fostering all ages, grade levels, and abilities. An expert in language, Dr. Cosentino speaks Italian and Spanish. Dr. Cosentino is a Lecturer for the English and Writing and Critical Inquiry Departments at the University at Albany, where she teaches courses on film studies, writing, research methods, theory, and literature in addition to specialized content courses for the University’s English majors. In her free time, she enjoys running, ballroom dancing, and cooking. Dr. Cosentino joined the Atrium family in 2013.
Dr. Cosentino is a graduate of The University at Albany, SUNY, where she earned her Ph.D. in Transatlantic Modernist Literature and Theory in 2022. She holds a master's degree in English Literature as well as a Bachelor of Science in Secondary English Education from Long Island University’s Post Campus.
